About - Summarize Written Text is the first question type in PTE Writing Section. This section is designed to test a test taker’s ability to identify the writer’s purpose, style, tone or attitude by comprehending explicit and implicit information presented in the paragraph. The total of 2-3 questions are asked in the exam. For each question, 10 minutes time is allowed.
Scoring -
Each question contributes 7 marks for Writing and Reading
Section. Marking is divided into 4 parameters.
Content:2 Grammar:2
Vovabulary:2
Length(form):1 (Must write the Summary in 1 sentence in between
5-75 words)
Strategy -
Understanding of Marking fragmentation is the key to secure
higher marks in this section. As the scoring depends on four
main parameters: Content, Grammar, Vocabulary and the
length(form), it is important to know that content covers only
28.5 percent marks, and the 71.5 percentage are coming from
remaining sections. What most of the students do in the exam
is they mainly focuses in 28.5 percentage leaving most of the
percentage.
Time and stress management is the other factor that will help
you to boost your SWT marks. Try to write down one sentence
summary within 7 minutes time, leaving 3 minutes of time to
recheck the punctuations, spellings, grammatical structure and
the length of the sentence. Also, be aware that SWT
